What Managed IT Support solves

Most businesses contact us because IT has started to cost them time, money or peace of mind. Small problems go unnoticed until they stop work, nobody is sure whether the backups run, and the person who looks after the computers has a different day job.

  • “Our computers are slow and nobody has time to sort them out.”
  • “We don’t know if our backups actually work.”
  • “Every IT bill is a surprise, so we never know what next month will cost.”
  • “We’re worried about a cyber attack but don’t know where we stand.”

Phishing is by far the most common type of cyber attack reported by UK businesses, according to the UK government’s Cyber Security Breaches Survey. Our service includes security measures that reduce that risk, and our cybersecurity services go further if you need them.

Who is Managed IT Support For

This service suits offices of [10 to 50] people that need IT to work every day but are not large enough to justify a full-time IT member of staff. It works well for law firms handling confidential client files, construction firms with teams spread across several sites, and professional services firms that bill by the hour and cannot afford downtime.

We are based in Edinburgh and support businesses across the Lothians, the Scottish Borders and Fife See all the areas we cover.

Managed IT Support: frequently asked questions

How much does it cost?

Our managed IT support plans start from £35 per user per month, for one fixed monthly fee. The price depends on the number of users, whether you have on premises servers, how complex your network is, whether you want onsite support included and the amount of data you need to backup. After your free IT audit, you get a fixed price and a clear plan in plain English.

How long does it take to set up?

Most offices are fully set up within two to four weeks of agreeing the proposal. This can be affected by how helpful your current provider is. We install, configure and test everything with minimal disruption, and can even do work at a time to suit your business.

Do we need to change our existing systems?

Usually not. We start with the systems you already have and only recommend changes where something is out of date, insecure or costing you money. We add our monitoring and asset management software to all of your devices and this lets us have a complete picture of your IT estate. This will highlight to us anything that may need renewing or replacing. If you are moving email and files to the cloud, our Microsoft 365 setup and migration service covers that. We always recommend replacing systems that can no longer be supported.
